Jhon Lucumi wants to become one of the leaders in the Juventus dressing room after completing his move to the club from Bologna during this transfer window.

The Colombian has always wanted to wear the Juve shirt and had long dreamed of becoming one of their players. As a result, when other clubs showed interest in signing him, he was not interested in joining them.

Lucumi waited for the Bianconeri to make an offer for his signature and bring him into their squad. He has now achieved the move he wanted and will be determined to make the most of his opportunity in Turin.

Defender understands leadership takes time

Lucumi addressed his ambitions and explained that becoming a leader will not happen immediately. He said via Tuttomercatoweb: “There are already many in the squad, and there are many ways to be a leader. The important thing for everyone is to put themselves at the service of the team. I believe that with time, I can become important to my teammates, including leadership and influence in the locker room, but that’s something that can’t happen overnight.”

His comments show that Lucumi understands the importance of earning respect within the squad. The defender will now look to establish himself as a key player before gradually taking on greater responsibility.

If he can become a regular starter and maintain his influence, Lucumi could eventually develop into one of the important leaders Juventus rely on inside the dressing room.
