Luis Enrique says Marquinhos 'ready' for Intercontinental Cup final against Flamengo

Luis Enrique said Marquinhos should be available for Wednesday’s Intercontinental Cup final against Flamengo in Doha at 18:00.

According to L'Équipe, the Paris coach addressed his captain’s fitness at Tuesday’s press conference.

Marquinhos suffered an adductor issue in the 0-0 draw with Bilbao last Wednesday, then missed the 3-2 at Metz on Saturday due to muscle fatigue in his right hip.

Enrique said the defender is ready, with one training session still to come on Tuesday, and that they will assess him before deciding on Wednesday whether he starts.

Apart from Achraf Hakimi, who is working back in Morocco ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations with the Atlas Lions, the rest of the squad is available.
