Luís Filipe Vieira, the former Benfica president, suffered a heavy fall while speaking to reporters shortly after being acquitted in the "Saco Azul" case involving the club.
The incident occurred outside the Campus de Justiça in Lisbon on Thursday as he left the building following the verdict. According to Glorioso 1904, it prompted concern among those present, including the journalists interviewing him.
He had just taken part in a key hearing linked to the well known "Saco Azul" proceedings, which had already drawn media attention before the incident shifted focus outside.
Before the fall, Vieira said he had always felt relieved, maintained that justice works and that investigators should be allowed to do their job. He added he had zero concern and would speak about the matter in due course.
The episode followed immediately after his acquittal and drew added attention to proceedings at the Campus de Justiça.
