Luis Rioja suffers right quadriceps injury

Luis Rioja has sustained a right quadriceps muscle injury during Saturday's match against Stoke City. He will miss Valencia's Trofeo Naranja fixture against Newcastle this Saturday.

He did not train with the group this morning. According to AS, his involvement in Valencia's La Liga opener against Celta on 22 August is in doubt.

He will continue medical treatment and reconditioning until there is clinical improvement.

Rioja's absence, added to the long-term injury to Diego López and Ramazani's departure at the end of last season, leaves the wide roles short.
