Luis Vazquez capitalised on his first start of the season as his brace helped Anderlecht to a 3-1 win over Eupen on Saturday afternoon. The former Boca Juniors man tapped in a well directed cross from Thorgan Hazard, before taking advantage of a Rune Paeshuyse mistake to grab his second and the sides third. Anderlecht have now gone eight games unbeaten, with their only defeat of the season coming in the opening game against Union St Gilloise.

Anderlecht got off to a great start in east Belgium when Anders Dreyer put the side 1-0 up within a minute. The Dane was assisted by Theo Leoni, who grabbed his fourth of the season. The 23-year-old Leoni has been one of the sides best players this season.

Eupen struck back before half-time when Alfred Finnbogason’s knock down was well finished by Isaac Nuhu. The striker should have made it 2-2 later in the game when he missed from just a few yards out. With the goal at his mercy, the Ghanaian forward somehow blasted the ball over the bar. The 21-year-old has two goals and two assists for the season.

Next up for Anderlecht will be KV Mechelen, while Eupen will travel to defending champions Antwerp next Sunday.
