Luka Modrić isn’t done yet, with the veteran midfielder signing a one year extension to his Real Madrid contract.

The club captain’s previous deal expired at the end of June, and after featuring for Croatia at EURO 2024, the 38-year-old has now put pen to paper on an extension which will run until June 2025.

Modrić joined Los Blancos from Tottenham in 2012 and has so far won 26 titles over his 12 seasons in the Spanish capital, the most in the history of the club.

He has played 534 games, scoring 39 goals, and on a personal level he won the Ballon d’Or, the FIFA Player’s The Best Award in 2018 and was named UEFA Player of the Year.

He will turn 39 in September, but still played an integral role last season, making 46 appearances as Carlo Ancelotti’s side won the LaLiga title and the Champions League.
