Here we have picked Tahith Chong and Carlton Morris as two players Luton Town must resist any transfer advances for this summer.

Luton Town will be looking to bounce straight back to the Premier League at the first time of asking this season.

The Hatters were very unlucky to not retain their place in the top flight last season after putting up one hell of a fight.

But unfortunately, results towards the end of the season went against them, and they are now back in the Championship, looking to repeat what they did in the 2022/23 season.

Luton will be considered one of the favourites for promotion this season, as they come down with a relatively strong squad, equipped with players that performed well in the league above.

Whenever a team is relegated, there may be a few sides sniffing around their best players, but Luton must ensure that they keep hold of their squad.

With that said, here at Football League World, we believe that any transfer advances of Tahith Chong and Carlton Morris must be snubbed this summer…

Tahith Chong

Luton signed Tahith Chong last summer from Birmingham City after confirming their promotion to the Premier League.

The Dutchman had only been with the Blues for a season, as he joined the club on a permanent basis from Manchester United.

Chong started his career at Feyenoord before moving to Manchester United, so the midfielder didn’t have much experience of the Championship until he joined Birmingham.

The 24-year-old joined the club first on loan from the Red Devils, and then he signed for them on a permanent contract.

The midfielder has 58 games in the second tier under his belt, with him scoring five goals and chipping in with eight assists.

His record isn’t outstanding in the Championship, but he is a player that could be so influential for Luton should he remain at the club.

Chong has the ability to operate in central areas of the midfield as well as out wide, and that makes him very useful for manager Rob Edwards.

Furthermore, Chong performed well for Luton last season, and you would expect him going back into the Championship could help him take his game even further and become even more important for the club.

Chong has enormous ability, and he has the potential to be one of the best attacking players in the league on his day, so Luton must resist any temptation to sell and keep hold of the player as they bid for promotion.

Carlton Morris

The other player that Luton must snub any transfer advances for over the coming weeks is striker Carlton Morris.

Morris has been at Kenilworth Road since the summer of 2022, and after impressing for the likes of MK Dons and Barnsley, the forward has taken his game to the next level with Luton.

The 28-year-old has had two really impressive campaigns for the club, as in their promotion-winning season, Morris scored 20 goals in 44 league games.

Then last season, the striker continued his form in front of goal, as he scored 11 Premier League goals in 38 appearances.

Morris has become really important for Luton, and it would be silly for the club to even consider an exit this summer.

The forward has really hit his prime years, and he has been a consistent producer for Luton in his two years at the club. If they have any chance of sealing promotion in this campaign, then Morris needs to remain at the club.

He showed in the 2022/23 season how good he can be at this level, scoring 20 goals in 44 games, which is very impressive.

Luton will find it hard to replace that kind of form in front of goal if they did let Morris leave, so it is a must he remains this summer, as if he does, Luton’s chances of promotion and possibly automatic promotion are greater.
