Burnley and Middlesbrough have entered the race for Lyndon Dykes, who has attracted plenty of Championship transfer interest
Burnley and Middlesbrough are among the clubs keen to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2026/27 Championship season.
The Clarets were relegated from the Premier League alongside Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United, whereas Boro lost to Hull City in the Championship play-off final.
Burnley are vying for an immediate top-flight return, whereas Kim Hellberg's men boasted automatic promotion credentials until the last day of the regular season, and will hope to land a top-two spot next term instead.
Having missed out on automatic promotion, Middlesbrough then lost to Southampton in the Championship play-off semi-finals, but they were given a place in the final after the Saints were kicked out of the competition for spying on one of the North East club's training sessions.

Burnley will be even more keen to strengthen their forward options if Zian Flemming leaves Turf Moor this summer, having proven his quality in the Premier League.
The 27-year-old notched 11 goals in 29 top-flight outings, which is a strong return for a side who suffered relegation back to the Championship.
Meanwhile, according to Ben Jacobs via X, Millwall and Leicester City have approached to sign Lyndon Dykes, who has received an offer to stay at Charlton Athletic.
Dykes scored three goals and registered three assists for the Addicks, having joined the South London club on a short-term deal in January, following his Birmingham City exit.
Now, according to TEAMtalk, Burnley, Middlesbrough, Bristol City and Cardiff City have joined Millwall and Leicester in the race to sign the 30-year-old.
Bristol City's forwards were relatively goal-shy in the 2025/26 season, with out-and-out striker Emil Riis Jakobsen notching just nine in 44 Championship appearances.
Meanwhile, Cardiff need all the depth and quality they can add to their side, having won promotion back to the second tier alongside Lincoln City and Bolton Wanderers.

Dykes has been selected in Scotland's World Cup squad, and his mind will be fully set on helping Steve Clarke's men enjoy a successful summer for now.
Scotland are set to take on Haiti, Morocco, and Brazil in their group stage games next month.
Meanwhile, once his national team's summer is over, Dykes will then turn his attention to deciding whether to stay at Charlton or join one of their Championship rivals.
The likes of Millwall, Middlesbrough, and Burnley, who have all shown interest in the 30-year-old, will all be looking to battle at the right end of the Championship table.
Bristol City will hope to reinstall their previous play-off credentials, whereas survival will be the main goal for both Cardiff and Charlton.
Dykes, who turns 31 in October, should consider his game time amid the plethora of Championship sides who are interested in his services.
His ability to lead the line and hold-up play makes him an attractive option for many clubs, but he doesn't boast a prolific goalscoring record, which doesn't bode well for some promotion-chasing teams.
Dykes hasn't notched double figures since scoring 12 goals for Queens Park Rangers in the 2020/21 season, which was played behind closed doors.
