Lyon add Slavia Prague and Wolfsburg friendlies to complete July schedule | OneFootball

Lyon have finalised their pre-season, adding Czech champions Slavia Prague on 18 July and Wolfsburg on 24 July, both to be played in Germany.

According to Le Progres, the first comes before their camp at the Adidas campus in Herzogenaurach, and the second closes the camp in Bamberg, Bavaria, where former Lyon player Saël Kumbedi now features.

Both fixtures will be played over two periods of 60 minutes, rather than the traditional two 45-minute halves.

Wolfsburg are now in Bundesliga 2 after losing last spring’s play-off to Paderborn. The Volkswagen-owned club still operate on a budget of around €200 million, and had been in the top flight since 1996.

The sides last met in a friendly on 28 July 2018 in Bourg, Lyon winning 2-1 through goals from Terrier and Traoré.

Lyon’s July slate also includes Mâcon on 8 July, a 5-2 win, Saint-Gall on 11 July, and Servette Genève in Bourgoin on 15 July. It finishes on 29 July in Cadiz against Betis Seville, before attention turns to the Champions League third qualifying round, hopefully in top form.
