Lyon’s push through the Champions League play-offs could shape the end of their window, with late reinforcements still on the table.

According to Le Progres, the prospect of qualification could influence business right up to the window closing on one September. To get there, Lyon must overcome Fenerbahçe in the play-offs on 18 and 26 August, with participation worth at least €18.7m.

Sporting director Matthieu Louis-Jean signalled that adjustments may come late in the market, suggesting there could be one or two further arrivals if conditions allow.

Only defender Felix Bacher, signed from Estoril, is newly eligible for the play-offs on the UEFA list. Swiss full-back Zachary Athekame, expected to join on loan from AC Milan, cannot be registered before the deadline of Thursday 13 August at 23:59.

Lyon are also looking to trim numbers. Alejandro Gomes Rodriguez is expected to leave on loan, Malick Fofana or Pavel Sulc are drawing interest, and a question remains over Tanner Tessmann.

With a heavy schedule ahead, the recruitment department continues to work on further strengthening the squad.
