Lyon fans were authorised to attend but ultimately absent from Stade Jean-Bouin for the Ligue 1 match between Paris FC and OL on Saturday night.

According to L'Équipe, the confusion started on Thursday when rumours of a Ministry of the Interior travel ban led Lyon groups to cancel their coach reservations.

Permission to travel later arrived, tightly controlled, with only five coaches permitted, but by then no vehicles were available.

About an hour before kick-off on Saturday, Paris FC were informed there would be no travelling support.

Notified at the last minute, Paris FC could not re-sell the away section and incurred extra costs after bringing in additional security staff.

A small number of stewards allocated to the OL enclosure took seats in the visitors’ area to watch the match.
