Olympique Lyonnais have discovered their opponents for the 2025/26 Europa League phase of the league, with Paulo Fonseca’s side set for a varied European campaign that includes trips to Spain, Israel, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.
After last season’s run to the quarter-finals – where they were cruelly eliminated by Manchester United – OL are targeting another deep run despite a turbulent summer. John Textor stepped aside as president, with Michele Kang taking over leadership of the Rhône club. While Fonseca remains on the bench, his squad has undergone a near-complete overhaul with several senior players departing.
Nevertheless, Lyon have ambitions of mounting a serious challenge in Europe once again. The draw has handed them some glamour ties, notably a clash against La Liga’s Real Betis in Seville, as well as a meeting with Austrian champions Salzburg, who will visit the Groupama Stadium.
Elsewhere, Lyon will also take on PAOK, Basel, Young Boys, Utrecht, Maccabi Tel-Aviv, and Dutch outfit Go Ahead Eagles across the eight-match phase.
