Speaking on RMC Sport show Rothen s’enflamme, Olympique Lyonnais’ technical director, Matthieu Louis-Jean, has left the door open for a return for Endrick (19).
Endrick joined Lyon on loan from Real Madrid back in January. The forward was struggling for game time at the Bernabeu, but was desperate to make Brazil’s squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup. As a result, OL made their move early, stealing a march on competitors and getting a deal over the line before the transfer window even opened.
Endrick contributed to OL’s success in the second half of the season. In 21 games in all competitions, he scored eight goals and registered eight assists, whilst also netting the first hat-trick of his professional career.
His form would earn him a place in the Brazil squad, and, he hopes, a place in the Real Madrid set-up for next season. Another loan is not anticipated at this moment in time, but Jean-Louis has left the door ajar. “Another loan? At the moment, I would say not. Impossible. But… often, Endrick talks about God. So we will see. He is a great lad,” said the technical director.
