Lyon to announce arrival from Ukraine this afternoon

Following FIFA’s announcement that clubs will be able to sign one player from Ukraine due to the Russian invasion of the country, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas, director of football Vincent Ponsot, and head of recruitment Bruno Cheyrou have called a press conference this afternoon at 2:30pm to announce the arrival of a player from Ukraine, as reported by L’Équipe.

Foot Mercato have previously reported that Lyon had been looking at Shakhtar Donetsk player David Neres (25), while L’Équipe confirm that tomorrow’s announcement will not be for Israeli international Manor Salomon (22), with whom Lyon have had contact for a while. It has been reported that the player will indeed by an attacking one.
