Lyon's Champions League play-off second leg against Fenerbahçe at Groupama Stadium on 26 August has been designated high risk, level 4 of 5. 2,220 away supporters are expected, and there will be no matchday sales at the stadium.

According to L'Équipe, the national anti-hooliganism directorate issued the rating after a meeting at the Lyon prefecture on Thursday.

Of the visiting contingent, 1,000 will travel from Türkiye and 1,000 from the European Union. All will be located in the 2,816-capacity away sector, and between 500 and 700 are classed as risk profiles.

Fenerbahçe will manage distribution through dedicated channels, issuing vouchers to be exchanged for tickets at Eurexpo in Chassieu near the ground. The gathering is set for 18:00 on matchday, before 15 to 20 buses or shuttles take fans to the stadium.

Lyon have opened sales to over 26,000 season-ticket holders and will step up messaging on the resale ban. The club has identified three groups who breached the rule and will suspend their subscriptions without refund, reserving the right to impose stadium bans, IDS.

Depending on the 18 August first-leg result, the Lyon prefect may issue orders restricting the presence of Turkish supporters, or those identified as such, in the city centre on 26 August to avoid clashes with Lyon ultras.

Authorities plan to request three CRS units, noting lessons from Besiktas’s visit on 13 April 2017, when trouble flared in the north end during a 2-1 Europa League quarter-final. Around 50,000 are expected for this decisive tie.
