Lyon's Rémi Himbert 'to sign' first professional contract

Rémi Himbert, 17, is set to sign his first professional contract with Olympique Lyonnais, according to L’Équipe.

The agreement is set to run for the next three seasons. He has been used regularly by Paulo Fonseca in recent weeks, and the Portuguese coach handed him his big break in the 2-1 home win over Stade Brestois on 18 January.

This season he has two goals in eight outings for OL’s reserve side.

He scored against PAOK in the Europa League on his first professional start.

The Saint-Alvold-born forward, part of the 2008 generation, has progressed through France’s youth set-up and featured at the Under-17 World Cup in Qatar last summer.
