M6’s free-to-air broadcast of the 2026 World Cup final, Spain 1-0 Argentina after extra time, drew a very strong audience on Sunday night.
According to L'Équipe, the match averaged 12.24 million viewers and a 59.2% share, putting M6 comfortably top of the evening ratings.

France 3 attracted an average 2.4 million viewers with the repeat of Meurtres à Mulhouse.
In 2014, the last World Cup final without France, Germany’s 1-0 after extra time win over Argentina drew 13.58 million viewers and 61% on TF1.
The biggest French audience of the 2026 tournament remains France’s 0-2 semi-final defeat by Spain, with more than 21 million viewers on average when combining M6 and beIN Sports.
