Mabasa talks about his lack of participation with Orlando Pirates!

It wasn't long before Buccaneers striker Tshegofatso Mabasa came out to talk about the reasons for his lack of participation with the Buccaneers this season, the 2025-2026 season, under the supervision of Moroccan coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, who made many changes since his arrival at the South African team, succeeding Spanish coach Jose Rivero, who refused to renew his contract and went to coach Al-Ahly in the north of the continent, before he was also dismissed from coaching the Egyptian team later.

What did Mabasa say about his lack of participation with the team?

The player was excluded by the Moroccan coach from the first match of the new season, but he commented on this by saying that he is currently working hard to return to the exact required form and to return to the team's accounts as soon as possible.

Personally, what was going through my mind is just to keep on working hard and keep on improving, Each and every day that I step onto the field, I want to improve, especially in training. With the meetings that I had with the coach, I understood that it wasn’t my time yet.

Mabasa said.

Maybe the guys that are playing ahead of me, Radiopane, for example, deserved this chance with the way that he expressed himself in training, you know, and all the way from the pre-season. Same with Evidence [Makgopa], whoever is there [playing] deserves to be there. It was them who were chosen, and we knew that they were capable of doing the job.
