Tottenham Hotspur will entertain Aston Villa at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this Saturday as they look to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. Spurs suffered a tough 3-1 loss away at Liverpool in the EFL Cup recently, so they would be eager to bounce back with a win this weekend.

Roberto De Zerbi will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a handful of changes to his first team for this clash. James Maddison, Micky van de Ven and Andy Robertson could all play from the start of this game.

Defence

Antonin Kinsky will operate in between the sticks for Spurs after being rested in midweek. Jan Paul van Hecke will function alongside Micky van de Ven at the centre of the Tottenham backline as they look to keep a good shape when defending inside his half.

Archie Gray will try to prove his worth as the right-back, while Andy Robertson looks to prove his worth on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Marcos Senesi and Destiny Udogie will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Rodrigo Bentancur and Mateus Fernandes will anchor the midfield for the North London club as they look to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.

The gifted trio of Omar Marmoush, James Maddison and Savio will operate just ahead of them as part of the Tottenham attack. All three of them need to combine well if Spurs are to come out on top this weekend.

Lucas Bergvall, Conor Gallagher and Mohammed Kudus will have to settle for a place on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Attack

Dominic Solanke will spearhead De Zerbi’s attack up top. He has to find a way to be a real threat on the offensive end of the field.

Mathys Tel will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the latter stages of this contest if required.
