Decisive on three occasions (one goal, two assists), the attacking midfielder from the Academy was elected player of the month for October by Bang & Olufsen ahead of Wilfried Singo and Thilo Kehrer.
The youth of #MadeInLaDiagonale has been key to start the season. After Eliesse Ben Seghir, was named player of the month for August, it is the turn of another young talent from the Academy to be rewarded this October: Maghnes Akliouche. This is a reward for some great performances in which he was decisive on three occasions (one goal and two assists).
After a silver medal this summer he wasted no time in making his mark, as on matchday two, on a soggy Dinamo Zagreb pitch, he provided an assist from a corner for Mohammed Salisu. Having already scored against Barcelona on the previous matchday, he became only the third Club player to be involved in at least one goal in each of his first two Champions League appearances since Opta began collecting this data (2003/04).
Decisive in his first two appearances in the Champions League he made it three, a few weeks later. On the occasion of the team’s big win in Belgrade (5-1),It was he who closed the show by scoring the fifth goal with a curling left-footed shot. According to the statistics generator, the number 11 is the first player to score in two of his first three matches with AS Monaco in the Champions League since Javier Saviola in 2004 (2).
Finally, during the last match of the month in Nice, “Magic” Maghnes distinguished himself again by providing a high-level assist. He perfectly launched Breel Embolo behind the defense, and the Swiss striker only had to finish with a shot across goal to score his 100th professional goal.
It is therefore normal to see him win this title of MVP of the month of November by Bang & Olufsen with nearly 64.5% of the votes collected on the social networks of the club of the Principality. The French U-21 international, with whom he was also decisive twice during this month, finished ahead of Wilfried Singo (25.6%), scorer of a magnificent goal as well as having an assist against Red Star, and Thilo Kehrer (9.9%), who scored in Rennes and has been reassuring in defense. Bravo Maghnes! 👏
