Amad Diallo is finally receiving his flowers after establishing himself as one of Manchester United’s most consistent performers.
For some peculiar reason, Erik ten Hag just couldn’t see it.
The youngster will be hoping that he’s now done enough to not only secure his starting spot for Sunday’s clash with Leicester City but also cement a place in the XI under new head coach Ruben Amorim.
It’d be ludicrous for that not to be the case as well, given that Amad has created the most chances of any United winger this season despite playing only 700 minutes, according to StatmanDave. He has also returned three goals and one assist in each of the three games he’s played over 80 minutes.

Former Red Devils coach Rene Meulensteen joined a host of pundits singing Amad’s praises for his scintillating efforts last night when his brace earned United their first win in Europe for over a year.
Both goals were incredibly easy on the eye, too, as he initially rose to head home a looping header at the far post. For his second, he was relentless in his efforts to win the ball before dispatching an inch-perfect strike outside the box.
“Amad Diallo was by far the best man. The first goal, brilliant header, a very clever header,” Meulensteen declared on his BBC Sport commentary.
“But I was more impressed with the second goal; he made that goal with his tenacity, pressing to win the ball back and then to dribble inside and have a fantastic finish. For a player who has not started a lot of the games, he was magnificent.”
