Newcastle have reached an agreement to sign Brentford forward Yoane Wissa in a £55m deal.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the Bees attacker, who was keen to leave, has finally secured his desired move to St James’ Park after prolonged talks.
The Magpies had seen multiple offers turned down, but they have now matched Brentford’s £55m valuation.
Wissa is understood to have already agreed personal terms and is heading to the north east for his medical.
The move would give Eddie Howe his second attacking recruit of the window, following the £69m arrival of German striker Nick Woltemade.
Newcastle’s push to strengthen up front has been influenced by uncertainty over Alexander Isak, with the Swedish international on the verge of departing after Liverpool’s £125m bid was accepted.
