Mainz confirm Silas has fractured tibia and fibula

The club said in a statement on Friday that Silas Katompa Mvumpa has fractured the tibia and fibula in his left leg.

Silas was forced off during Mainz 05's 0-0 draw with SK Sigma Olomouc in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday.

He will be flown back to Mainz via a special air ambulance.

He will undergo surgery on his return.

Given the severity of the injury, he is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
