Just 18 months after leaving RC Strasbourg Alsace to join FSV Mainz, Ludovic Ajorque (30) could be set for a return to Ligue 1, according to a report from Foot Mercato.
FC Nantes are set to confirm the signing of Matthis Abline (21) from Breton rivals Stade Rennais. The France youth international is expected to sign in a €10m deal, however, he could be joined at the Beuajoire by another French forward. Ajorque left Strasbourg to join Mainz in Janaury 2023.
Since arriving at the Bundesliga club, the French striker has eight goals in 30 starts. He is now interested in returning to France. Foot Mercato understands that Nantes are in talks with Mainz regarding a deal. One of the keys will be reaching an agreement with Ajorque on personal terms, which given the DNCG’s imposition of financial restrictions, may ultimately prove to be a sticking point for Les Canaris.
