Maitland-Niles screamer earns Everton a point against Man Utd | OneFootball

A late Ainsley Maitland-Niles screamer earned Everton a draw in the final seconds against Manchester United.

It had been the Red Devils who were the better of the two teams but the first half was one of few chances. Bruno Fernandes went close early on when his shot hit the bar and Matheus Cunha also had a chance go over.

The goals came in the second half though with Bryan Mbeumo putting his side ahead shortly after the restart with a driving run from the right before finishing into the corner in trademark style.

Everton struggled to create much while some of referee John Brooks' decisions irked the visitors – not least Fernandes who managed to not be given a foul when James Tarkowski's studs drew blood.

An equaliser did arrive out of nothing though in the 83rd minute when Hayden Hackney – who was one of three substitutes who made a big impact from the bench – found Tyrique George. There wasn't much space but George managed to squeeze his powerful shot beyond Senne Lammens at the near post.

Five minutes later United were ahead again. This time Luke Shaw arriving on the overlap and swinging in a ball that Benjamin Sesko headed in despite Jordan Pickford getting a hand to the effort.

Out of nothing, the Toffees salvaged a point in the final seconds of the game when Maitland-Niles struck a superb effort from distance to mark his debut with style.
