Maitland-Niles to miss Paris FC, could be out for 15 days

Ainsley Maitland-Niles will miss Lyon’s home game against Paris FC on Sunday after an adductor injury sustained against Lens in the Coupe de France. He went off on 69 minutes.

According to Le Progres, Paulo Fonseca suggested the lay-off could be around 15 days.

Hans Hateboer, who replaced him on Thursday, is the frontrunner to start against Paris FC. Noam Kamara is another option, while Ruben Kluivert is still being managed carefully.

The following Thursday’s Europa League trip to Vigo poses a different problem. Hateboer and Kamara were not registered on the UEFA list.

Lyon opted to include winter arrivals Endrick, Yaremchuk and Nartey for the round of 16 squad instead. As a result, an alternative will be required in Vigo.
