Amad Diallo is set to return to training with the Manchester United squad from next week.
Diallo has been sidelined since sustaining an ankle injury in February that was initially expected to curtail his campaign. Ruben Amorim has offered encouraging updates on Diallo’s progress in recent weeks and it has now been revealed that he’s set to rejoin training.
The Ivory Coast international has recovered from the issue quicker than expected and could be involved across the run-in. Fabrizio Romano has revealed the news of Diallo’s impending return, in a huge boost to Amorim.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed a breakout season at Manchester United, in which he has scored six Premier League goals and provided six assists.
He scored crucial late goals to earn results against Manchester City and Liverpool, in addition to a first Premier League hat-trick – scored inside the final eight minutes – as United came from behind to beat Southampton at Old Trafford.
Manchester United face Athletic Bilbao in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday night and it will be hoped that Diallo can feature before the campaign concludes.
