According to Goal.com, a widely shared video shows Malcom looking pained when asked about Al-Hilal just days after leaving the Saudi club, and the breakdown with parts of the fanbase has been reported as a key factor in his departure.

Malcom joined Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023, then left by mutual consent despite initially wishing to stay.

He moved to the UAE’s Al-Jazira and, only hours later, featured in a 2-0 league win over Sharjah, before greeting supporters outside the stadium.

In the clip, a fan asked him to send a message to Al-Hilal’s supporters. His expression tightened and he appeared saddened. "I love the real fans of Al-Hilal club," Malcom said.

The winger had clashed with the club’s fans on several occasions, especially in his second season, as frustration grew over domestic and Asian results.
