Malick Fofana remains on Bayern Munich shortlist, despite Lyon stance | OneFootball

Olympique Lyonnais forward Malick Fofana (20) remains a target for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, according to a report from Sky Sports Germany. 

Fofana has not played since the end of October, since sustaining a serious ankle injury. He is not expected to play again until around mid/late January.

Prior to that, the Belgium international remained a key player for Lyon, and of the only high-value assets that they managed to retain amid their off-season firesale. But further approaches are expected.

Despite that, OL are determined to resist them. “The sale of Fofana has never been on the table for January,” OL CEO Michael Gerlinger told Ligue 1 Plus last month. 

However, that may not stop some of Europe’s elite from attempting to pull off a deal. Bayern Munich were interested in the summer, and Sky Sports Germany understands that remains the case. For now, however, Said El Mala is the priority option for the Bavarian club at left wing. But Fofana remains a very concrete option.
