Grenoble goalkeeper Mamadou Diop has signed a four-year contract with AJ Auxerre, becoming the club’s fourth summer addition.

Standing 2.04m, Diop will compete for the gloves with Donovan Léon and understudy Théo De Percin.

He expressed pride at joining Auxerre, calling it a major step in his career and a move to a historic club that makes him very happy.

Diop will now step into the top flight for the first time, following Arthur Piedfort from Westerlo, Danny Namaso from Porto on a permanent deal and Romain Faivre on a renewed loan. He has seven caps for Mauritania.
