Mamadou Sangaré will miss RC Lens's home game against Monaco on Saturday at 17:00. According to L'Équipe, the Malian midfielder is not in the squad after a pelvic knock last weekend.

He was withdrawn early in the second half of the 5-0 win at Paris FC after a blow to the iliac crest. Despite joining full training on Thursday, the 23-year-old, capped 15 times by Mali, has not recovered sufficiently.

Lens staff have chosen caution, even though Pierre Sage had suggested he might feature. He said the player was returning steadily and they would assess whether he could start or have his minutes managed, calling the situation reassuring.

In his absence, the coach can pair Adrien Thomasson with Andrija Bulatovic, 19, or the experienced Amadou Haidara, who is short of match fitness.

The leaning is towards the Montenegrin.
