Mamelodi Sundowns suffered their first defeat of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign after falling to a 1-0 loss to Golden Arrows on Wednesday.
Ivorian striker Junior Dion rose the highest to score with a glancing header that separated the two sides at King Zwelithini Stadium.
The defending champions remain in second place with 18 points accumulated from nine league outings, having registered five wins and three draws in the process.
Masandawana have played two games more than log leaders Sekhukhune United and trail the Limpopo outfit with one point.
Meanwhile, the match saw new Downs marquee signing Nuno Santos make his official debut for the club.
On the other hand, Tsiki Ntsabeleng, who joined on a season-long loan from FC Dallas in the MLS, also came on as a second half substitute along with teenage striker Bennet Mokoena.
For the KZN side, this is the first time since November 2019 they claim maximum points at the expense of Sundowns.
Moreover, the win saw Manqoba Mngqithi’s side snap a three-game losing streak in the league and move up to ninth place with 10 points from eight matches.
