Manchester City are back into second place in the WSL after coming from behind to defeat Liverpool at Anfield.
It was a dramatic game in which both sides had chances as former City manager Gareth Taylor saw his side frustrate the visitors for the first 45 minutes.
Liverpool took the lead with what was just their second goal of the league season shortly after the restart. Ceri Holland whipped in a cross from the right that Cornelia Kapocs got to the end of to head past Ayaka Yamashita in front of the Kop end.
The visitors equalised in the 64th minute when Bunny Shaw's header forced Rafaela Borggräfe into a save that Iman Beney was on hand to convert.
Andrée Jeglertz's side took the lead late on in the game after an incisive move that ended when substitute Sydney Lohmann played Aoba Fujino in. The Japan international kept her cool and hammered an effort into the net to make it 2-1.
The Reds thought they had snatched a point in the final seconds of the game when Yamashita didn't deal with a Holland free-kick. Gemma Bonner was on hand to finish up but the flag went up for offside to mean that it is five defeats out of five for Liverpool.
City's win sees them move back ahead of local rivals United after both teams from Manchester went to Liverpool's big stadiums, fell behind, but then returned with all three points.
