Man City duo to miss Aston Villa clash while midfielder is a doubt

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Abdukodir Khusanov and Rodri will both not be fit enough to return when Man City play Aston Villa.

Khusanov has not played since the draw with Arsenal last month while Rodri is out with a muscular issue.

“The guys who were not able [to play] against Villareal are still not ready,” Guardiola said.

The City boss is also unsure whether Nico Gonzalez will be able to play after suffering a knock in the Champions League win over Villarreal.

“I didn’t see the doctors, we’ll see today and tomorrow how he feels.

“It was something with his feet.”

Guardiola says Khusanov is close to returning, however.

“I think he’s close but he’s still not ready from having an injury in a dangerous, dangerous position in his body,” he said.
