Manchester City have been given permission by Bayer Leverkusen to speak to Florian Wirtz.

According to Sky Sports, the player and his family travelled to England on Tuesday for talks and City are hoping to conclude a deal for the attacking midfielder.

Bayern Munich are also pushing hard to sign him but it is reported Leverkusen would prefer to sell to Pep Guardiola’s side over their Bundesliga rival.

Sky Sports are also reporting that Manchester United are monitoring Callum Hudson-Odoi’s situation at Nottingham Forest.

Talks are ongoing for a new contract, with the 24-year-old’s contract up next summer. Serie A sides Napoli and Roma are also interested in Hudson-Odoi.

Elsewhere, The Athletic report that Manchester City have made contact with AC Milan over the potential signing of midfielder Tijani Reijnders this summer.

City are yet to make a formal offer, with talks at an early stage, but there is hope Pep Guardiola’s side can reach an agreement for the 26-year-old Dutch international.

The Daily Mirror say Arsenal are to open contract talks with William Saliba in order to fend off interest from Real Madrid.

Saliba’s contract runs until 2027 and Real have the Frenchman at the top of their list of centre-backs to sign. The Gunners are looking to tie the 24-year-old down to a new long-term deal.

The Mirror also reports that Arsenal have been told by Sporting Lisbon that Viktor Gyokeres is available to be signed for £60 million.

Mikel Arteta’s side have made signing a striker a top priority, with Sporting reportedly wanting to get any deal for Swedish international done early in the transfer window.

Finally, Fabrizio Romano reports Arsenal and Liverpool target Dean Huijsen is dreaming of a move to Real Madrid, but says the Premier League duo alongside Chelsea are prepared to trigger the £50 million release clause to get the deal done early.
