Man City goalkeeper Ederson has done it again.
The Brazil international is renowned for his ball playing ability, establishing himself as one of the best passers in his position since joining the north west outfit from Benfica in 2017.
That has made the 31-year-old a key part of the team’s buildup play under Pep Guardiola, but he has also contributed directly to a number of goals over the past eight years.
Indeed, Ederson broke the record for most assists by a goalkeeper in the Premier League earlier this season when he set up Omar Marmoush against Newcastle United in February, his sixth league assist for the club.
The six-time title winner registered his seventh overall and fourth of the season on Saturday when his long ball over the top of the Crystal Palace was finished superbly by youngster James McAtee. It was Man City‘s fourth of the day as they completed a stunning comeback after going two goals down early on.
Unfortunately for Ederson he did not see out the game. He was replaced by backup goalkeeper Stefan Ortega midway through the second half after sustaining an injury.
