Pep Guardiola said Manchester City wouldn’t be doing any business on transfer deadline day but he was lying.

Croatian side Hajduk split have confirmed that 18-year-old Ante Palaversa has joined the Premier League champions in a deal worth a reported £7m.

However, Palaversa will spend the rest of the current season back on loan at Hajduk.

The midfielder rose through the ranks at Stadion Poljud and has so far made 17 senior appearances for the club, scoring two goals.

He has captained Croatia at under-19 level and can play in central midfield, in the holding role or further forward.
