Pep Guardiola says Erling Haaland is “feeling better” but is still yet to take part in team training.
The Man City striker injured his ankle in his side’s FA Cup quarter-final win over Bournemouth last month and Guardiola says he is still unsure when he will be able to return.
“He feels better, but I don’t know when [he returns],” he said.
“It’s not a comfortable injury, some twist in your ankle and knees, he’s not a small guy, but he’s getting better. Still hasn’t trained with the team.
“He’s getting better and he’s always involved. Apparently he can be ten more years here, I’m sure he wants to be in the Champions League more than anyone else next season.”
Rodri also remains sidelined with the ACL injury he suffered earlier this season against Arsenal but is back in training and Guardiola is hopeful of a return before the campaign ends.
On when Rodri could be back, Guardiola said: “To be honest, I don’t know. He is training every session, he’s doing really well. The doctor will tell me the green light and how many minutes.”
City take on Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on Sunday but Guardiola says even reaching the FA Cup final and winning the competition would not make this season a good one.
“The season has not been good, if we reach the final, then we avoid bigger damage for the club, but the season is not good,” he said.
“From the point of view of the table, the season is or is not good is on the Premier League. The Premier League dictates how happy we are with our season. But it could be worse, the position is in our hands.
“We have an incredible opportunity to be three times in a row in the final of the FA Cup.”
Guardiola also revealed goalkeeper Ederson is back in training but is unsure whether he will play against Forest.
