Man City have injury issues across the pitch
Manchester City have found a way to return to winning form despite being without a number of key players.
Pep Guardiola’s side have steadied their Premier League season and on Sunday booked their place in a third straight FA Cup final with a last-four win over Nottingham Forest.
City still have the likes of Erling Haaland, John Stones and Rodri unavailable, but Ederson and Manuel Akanji were fit to make the bench at Wembley.
Erling Haaland has not yet returned to team training as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.
The striker picked up the issue against Bournemouth last month and is expected to be back before the end of the Premier League, but a return is not imminent.
“He feels better,” Guardiola said last week. “I said before I don’t know when.
“It’s not a comfortable injury. You have some twist in your ankle and then taping.
“It’s not comfortable. He’s not a small guy but he’s getting better step by step. Still, he doesn’t train with the team but we will see how he does.”
Potential return date: Late May 2025
John Stones has not featured since picking up a thigh injury in the Champions League exit to Real Madrid.
Surgery was not necessary on the issue and it was said at the time that the centre-back would be out for up to ten weeks.
That would put his return at early May, but no fresh updates have been provided recently by Guardiola.

Nathan Ake picked up a foot injury in the FA Cup against Plymouth earlier this season.
It came after the defender already had spells out with hamstring and muscle issues earlier in the campaign, and Ake was forced to undergo surgery on his latest injury.
A timeframe of around ten weeks was given in March for his return, which would make a comeback before the end of the Premier League season a close call.

It has been a hugely frustrating campaign for Oscar Bobb.
The 21-year-old missed much of the season after suffering a fractured leg in the summer and he now faces another spell on the sidelines.
Bobb missed the FA Cup semi-final with a hamstring injury and it is reportedly doubtful whether he’ll play again this season.

Rodri continues to step up his training as he pushes to return from an ACL injury.
The Ballon d’Or winner suffered that in September but has made no secret of his desire to return before the end of the season, particularly with the Club World Cup to come in the summer.
Asked about Rodri’s potential return, Guardiola said last week: “Every training session he does with us, he does well.
“But I don’t know. Rodri wants [to play] but the doctor will have to say ‘Pep you have green light to give him minutes.’
“I want to rely on the doctors in that case.”
Potential return date: June 2025
