Manchester City will contest a third consecutive FA Cup final next month following a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in their semi-final clash at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
Scorers: Lewis 2', Gvardiol 51'
It took just two minutes for Pep Guardiola's side to open the scoring as Rico Lewis drilled an effort into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
Forest then struggled to settle before the break, potentially feeling the nerves of the big occasion, and that didn't change as the game ticked over into the second half.
Matz Sels made a decent stop to deny Matheus Nunes, but City ramped up the pressure and Josko Gvardiol rose above everyone from the resulting corner to head home their second of the afternoon.
Forest's best chance of the game came just after the hour mark as Morgan Gibbs-White rattled the crossbar with an attempted volley.
A few minutes later, he hit the woodwork again, this time pouncing on a loose ball in the area.
It simply wasn't Forest's day as Taiwo Awoniyi then hit the post late on, after he too reacted quickest to a loose ball in the City box.
The Manchester club were able to hold on to their two-goal advantage and will now joined Crystal Palace in next month's final at Wembley.
