Tottenham travel to Turf Moor on Saturday with selection issues easing slightly, as Conor Gallagher is set to return for a significant Premier League clash against Burnley. It is a key fixture for Thomas Frank, with pressure mounting despite a midweek Champions League boost and a congested injury list still shaping Spurs’ options.
Gallagher was ineligible for Tuesday’s 2-0 Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund, but is now available and expected to slot straight back into midfield. His energy and ball-winning could be vital as Tottenham look to stabilise league form and build momentum on the domestic front.

The former Chelsea midfielder is likely to start alongside either Archie Gray or Yves Bissouma. Frank had just 11 senior outfield players available against Dortmund, due to a mix of injury, suspension and ineligibility, making Gallagher’s return particularly timely.
Micky van de Ven is also available again and is expected to come straight back into defence. His recovery adds pace and balance to a back line that has been stretched in recent weeks.
Lucas Bergvall is the latest Tottenham player ruled out after being forced off with an ankle problem against Dortmund. The issue could keep him sidelined for up to three months, further limiting midfield and attacking rotation options.
Joao Palhinha remains a doubt after missing the last two matches with a knock. Frank provided an update on Friday, saying, “Palhinha is progressing, he could be close for Burnley but it will be tight.”
Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie made their first starts since returning from injury in midweek and could again feature. Pape Matar Sarr has also returned to Hotspur Way following the Africa Cup of Nations.
However, Tottenham remain without long-term absentees James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur, Mohammed Kudus and Richarlison. Despite the Dortmund win, Spurs have taken just one victory from their last seven Premier League matches, leaving Frank under scrutiny ahead of this Burnley trip.
Tottenham predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Vicario, Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie, Gray, Gallagher, Odobert, Simons, Tel, SolankeInjured: Maddison, Kulusevski, Bentancur, Kudus, Richarlison, Davies, BergvallDate and time: 3pm GMT on Saturday, January 24, 2026
