Enzo Fernandez and Iliman Ndiaye make their debuts as Manchester City host Coventry City in the Premier League and Enzo Maresca’s team look to continue their winning start to the season.
Erling Haaland got off the mark and Rayan Cherki also grabbed a brace in a 4-1 win at Crystal Palace last week, before a franctic end to the transfer window saw City equal the British transfer record to sign Fernadez from Chelsea for £125m and add Ndiaye from Everton in a £60m deal.
Fernandez was initially named on the bench, but the Argentina international comes into the starting line-up after Nico O’Reilly was replaced shortly before kick-off due to a back injury.
Coventry’s start to life in the Premier League doesn’t get any easier after their opening day defeat at champions Arsenal and last weekend’s sucker punch against Hull, where Frank Lampard’s side lost 1-0 after conceding from a late counter-attack. The Championship winners are prepared for another tough afternoon.
