Man City arrive in the capital without Rodri once again but Pep Guardiola has a near fully fit squad to choose from

Manchester City will be without Rodri once again when they travel to the capital to face Fulham tonight.

The 2024 Ballon d’Or winner has been plagued with fitness issues this term, making an initial comeback from an ACL injury that ruled him out for most of last season, and is struggling with a niggling hamstring problem this time around.

Rodri was believed to be in line for a return to action after the November international break, but that timeline has been pushed back slightly.

Pep Guardiola in his two-minute pre-match press conference on Monday that Rodri was “not yet” fit to play, thus would not travel with the squad for their trip to Craven Cottage.

The Spaniard is the only immediate injury concern for City, with Mateo Kovacic a longer-term absentee after ankle surgery.

It therefore leaves Guardiola with an otherwise full complement to pick from.

His tinkering against Bayer Leverkusen backfired, choosing to rest key players as his side were swept aside 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League.

Guardiola reverted back to type against Leeds - where City recorded a last-gasp 3-2 victory - but there were a couple of changes to his starting XI.

With the matches coming thick and fast, and a trip to the Santiago Bernabeu on the horizon, the City boss could opt to freshen up his squad and did hint at resting Erling Haaland after the win over Leeds.

“Erling sometimes has to rest because he plays a lot of minutes, but sometimes with his body I don’t know if it’s good to rest,” Guardiola said.

“Sometimes it is better to play, play, play and after 60 minutes maybe you are tired and go out. I don’t know when his body stops.

“With Phil [Foden], Jeremy [Doku], Bernardo [Silva], when they stop rest is good because they come back immediately.”

Predicted Man City XI (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Nunes, Dias, Gvardiol, O’Reilly; Silva, Nico, Reijnders; Foden, Haaland, Doku
