Manchester United were held to a 4-4 draw by Bournemouth in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Monday.
The Red Devils took the lead in the 13th minute, when Amad Diallo scored after Djordje Petrovic deflected Diogo Dalot’s cross into his path.
Matheus Cunha came close to doubling United’s lead, combining with Bruno Fernandes before flashing his effort wide.
Bryan Mbeumo then had an effort saved by Petrovic on the half-hour mark as United continued to apply the pressure on the visitors.
Moments later, Senne Lammens had to be alert to keep out Marcus Tavernier’s header.
Adam Smith’s brilliant block denied Diallo a second goal before Mbeumo volleyed Cunha’s delightful cross over the bar.
Bournemouth drew level against the run of play as Luke Shaw was dispossessed, allowing Smith to slip the ball to Antoine Semenyo. He burst into the area and fired home.
Casemiro restored United’s lead before the break, heading Fernandes’ corner into the net at the far post.
Bournemouth drew level again after the break, as Tavernier fed Evanilson in behind the United defence. The Brazilian slotted the ball past Lammens.
Tavernier made it 3-2 in the 51st minute, curling a beautiful free-kick beyond the United wall and the outstretched Lammens.
Mbeumo squandered a big chance to restore parity for United, smashing the ball high from inside the area.
Fernandes drew United level, bending a free-kick into the far top corner. Cunha soon made it 4-3 with a side-footed finish.
However, Man United’s lead lasted for just five minutes as substitute Eli Kroupi levelled the scores for Bournemouth.
Lammens made two brilliant saves in stoppage time to deny Bournemouth a late winner.
