Manchester United have confirmed the seventh loan departure of the winter transfer window.

Man United confirmed that midfielder Dan Gore has joined Rotherham United on loan until the end of the season.

Gore has made two senior appearances for the Red Devils and has captained the club’s under-21 team this season.

He made his senior debut for United in September 2023 in the Carabao Cup clash against Crystal Palace.

Former manager Erik ten Hag rewarded him with his Premier League bow against Aston Villa on Boxing Day in 2023.

This is his second loan spell after his first stint came to an early end last January.

He joined Port Vale on loan last season in January but his time there was cut short due to an unfortunate injury.

He then suffered a freak shoulder injury during the summer.

The League One outfit will provide him with a proper taste of first-team football, having made only one appearance for Port Vale.

Gore was ahead of Toby Collyer in the pecking order, but fitness setbacks have pushed him below.

He will hope to have a fresh start at Rotherham and focus on his development.

A loan move makes perfect sense at this moment.

If he can leave a lasting impression at his new club, manager Ruben Amorim would be tempted to give him an opportunity to shine in next pre-season.

Casemiro and Christian Eriksen are expected to leave the club after this season ends.

With Mainoo being auditioned for the number 10 spot, Amorim will have vacancies at the midfield berth.

Described as ‘highly regarded’, United fans will love to see Gore become a regular for the first team next campaign.

Antony, Ethan Ennis, Joe Hugill, Jack Kingdon, Ethan Wheatley and Ethan Williams are other six players who left Old Trafford this month for their respective loan moves.
