Manchester United continue to be linked with a move for the OGC Nice central defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

The French international is a target for Manchester United this summer and a report from HITC claims that they are prepared to do everything in their power to get the deal done.

Todibo plays for French club OGC Nice which is owned by INEOS, the petrochemical company that owns Manchester United as well.

According to UEFA regulations, clubs under the multi-club ownership model are not allowed to transfer players between each other and therefore Manchester United has been handed a major blow in their pursuit of Todibo.

It will be interesting to see if they can find a way around the regulations and get the deal done. The 24-year-old could prove to be a quality acquisition for them.

Todibo would improve Man United

He has proven himself in Ligue 1 and he has the quality to excel in the Premier League well. Manchester United must took to tighten up defensively if they want to compete with Arsenal and Manchester City next season. The Red Devils finished eighth in the league table last season and they conceded 58 goals in 38 league matches. They will have to improve defensively and signing a quality defender like to Todibo could make a big difference.

The 24-year-old could be the ideal replacement for Raphael Varane who left the club earlier this summer. The defender will be excited to test himself at a higher level and Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world.
