What is the Foundation?

In their own words, the “Manchester United Foundation is an independent charity, established in 2007 as a lasting legacy to the Busby Babes and the club’s time-honoured tradition of celebrating and believing in the potential of youth.”

The organisation aims to create a world where all young people are empowered to achieve their goals and plan to use the power of football to help people make the right choices in their life.

The group have organised events like the Warm Hub evenings which invite people into the Red Cafe to enjoy some free food and a warm space to chat and stay safe during the colder winter months.

Current work

The club’s official site have reported that Ruben Amorim and his players have once again been involved in some charitable work.

It is stated that, “Manchester United’s men’s first team squad made special memories with fans living with serious and life-limiting illnesses this week, as they travelled from across the country to meet their heroes at Carrington.”

“Spirits were high as head coach Ruben Amorim led his squad in a day to remember for young fans and their families at Manchester United Foundation’s latest Dream Day.”

Popular first team squad members like Bruno Fernandes, Leny Yoro and Casemiro were on hand to sign goods and pose for pictures with the supporters.

The site asserts that “the special event takes place twice a season where fans are invited to meet the Reds and watch a training session from the balcony of the Jimmy Murphy Centre.”

Summer signing and fan favourite Bryan Mbeumo commented, “it’s been a really good experience to take part in the Foundation’s Dream Day. To be able to meet the families, take photos and sign the shirts, I’m just grateful to be here and to make them smile. It’s just amazing to meet everyone, especially because they are cheering us on every weekend.”

Fellow new recruit Benjamin Sesko added, “it’s really special for us, because we can help to put smiles on fans’ faces and answer some questions.”

Kids involved in the event have faced life-altering news about their health and travelled from far and wide to be a part of the day.

Club captain Bruno Fernandes claimed, “it’s important as a Manchester United player to take part in these days and to give back to the fans. It’s always great to see the kids smiling when they meet us.”
