Manchester United could step up their pursuit of Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes in the coming days, with late January moves also being explored elsewhere in the Midlands.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, United have tracked Gomes throughout the current window and previously in the summer. Atletico Madrid and Napoli have also shown interest, and a deal has been viewed as one for the summer, though a late bid could yet arrive.
Che Adams has again been linked with Wolves. The former Blues and Southampton forward moved to Torino in 2024, and renewed talk has surfaced amid suggestions Jorgen Strand Larsen could depart before the deadline.
Wolves had shown interest in Chelsea youngster Harry McGlinchley, but he now looks set for Sheffield United. The defender has been told he can leave Chelsea and was seen as a potential Championship option.
Should Jose Sa exit before the cut-off, Wolves could move for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen. Sa has been linked with Nottingham Forest, while Spurs are considering Sam Johnstone. Scherpen left Ajax for Brighton in 2021 and made only one appearance.
Aston Villa are reportedly weighing a late bid for Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz. The Morocco international has been on the fringes of the Madrid squad since returning from AFCON. His signature has been touted to Newcastle and Spurs, though Villa appear the most interested at this stage.
