So during his time with the Braguistas, Amorim certainly encountered a young youth product by the name of Roger Fernandes.

The winger is now 19 years of age and has established himself as a regular feature with the first team after rising through the ranks. This season, he has contributed with five goals and as many assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.

As the Man Utd insider explains, Roger can be the ‘ideal’ alternative to Diogo Dalot who has been playing almost non-stop this season. Despite signing Patrick Dorgu in January, the club still needs reinforcement in this department, as Luke Shaw hasn’t been able to stay fit, while Tyrell Malacia’s future remains uncertain after sealing a loan move to PSV Eindhoven.

Fernandes is a left-footed player capable of playing as an advanced winger, but he has averaged 6.05 ball recoveries in 90 minutes, which suggests he’s more than capable of performing the defensive tasks required from a wingback.

The Portuguese teenager is tied to Braga with a contract valid until June 2028, and while Transfermarkt estimates his value at €15 million, he would likely cost a higher figure.
