Dan Gore is one of Manchester United’s young stars, currently making his mark away from Old Trafford.
The midfielder joined Rotherham United last summer on a season‑long loan and has quickly become a standout performer.
At the Aesseal New York Stadium, Gore has been a massive hit, featuring in all but one of the Millers’ 21 League One fixtures so far.
Anchoring the side’s midfield, Gore has played a key role in Rotherham’s campaign.
Yet his impressive form has sparked concern that United could recall him midway through the season.
Head coach Matt Hamshaw recently hinted that, at Rotherham, they fear United may decide to recall him and send him elsewhere to continue his development.
As anxiety grew among the Aesseal New York Stadium faithful over the midfielder’s future, reassurance has arrived.
Gore himself has spoken openly about where he wants to play out the remainder of this campaign.
“I’m happy here, and I’m happy with the progress that I’ve made,” he told the Rotherham Advertiser. “So I’d definitely be happy to still be here in February.”
If Gore has found his rhythm at Rotherham, perhaps INEOS should allow him to continue his resurgence rather than disrupt it.
Encouragingly, as a player who has previously been held back by injuries, he now seems to be rediscovering his mojo.
The 20‑year‑old already has two senior appearances for United under his belt, making a Carabao Cup cameo appearance against Crystal Palace in September 2023, and a substitute cameo in the 3‑2 Boxing Day win over Aston Villa later that year.
With his current deal at Old Trafford expiring at the end of this campaign, Gore’s rise at Rotherham could well play him into a new contract at United.
